In the context of the rapidly evolving global economy, the Youth Trades Program (YTP) emerges as a pivotal initiative in Rwanda, Africa. The YTP is designed around empowering young individuals to achieve independence and effectively bridge the gap between educational offerings and labour market demands. The YTP recognizes the critical need for young individuals to develop the vocational skills, confidence, and self-reliance necessary for economic self-sufficiency, informed decision-making, and adaptability in the local market.

Rural Development Partners
Reusable Menstrual Pads
The Youth Menstrual Hygiene Management Program addresses period poverty in Malawi, Africa. Rural Development Partners and Nexus Impacts aim to implement tangible lasting systems across school districts in rural communities. These multi-faceted systems manage menstrual hygiene and health deficits among young girls and women by teaching them sewing skills specifically tailored for creating reusable pads and educating them on sexual health, hygiene, and other relevant topics. Designed around sustainability, the project has a system involving local mother’s groups, and through the establishment of sewing clubs within schools, these local girls and women are fostering independence and systemic support for future generations.

Who We Are
Lifetime Exteriors was founded in 1987. We focus on supplying and installing awnings, sunscreens and patio covers. Mark Tizya, the owner of Lifetime Exterior Shades, has over 30 years of industry experience. We manufacture most of our awnings locally using the highest quality parts and materials. With such control over the manufacturing process, we can give you the very best products and service with shorter lead times. We carefully choose the best suppliers for our products and we do our best to employ local companies Cedar Grove Roofing, Forbidden Alloys and Kinetic Powder Coating for custom-made systems when required.
Why We Care
Our team realizes that there are people in areas of the world that don’t have the same environments that offer opportunities like North America. We are trades people and we understand the importance of having a skill that can provide income for a family. The trades program hits home for us and so does the Youth Menstrual Hygiene Management Program because we all have children and its hard to imagine that there are young woman in the world who don’t understand the reproductive cycle of their bodies and when they do, they are shunned for it. Women are the cornerstone of life and they should empowered, not diminished.
