Friends Peace House
Youth Trades School
In the context of the rapidly evolving global economy, the Youth Trades Program (YTP) emerges as a pivotal initiative aimed at empowering young individuals to achieve independence and effectively bridge the gap between educational offerings and labour market demands. The YTP is centred on fostering independence among youth. It recognizes the critical need for young individuals to develop the vocational skills, confidence, and self-reliance necessary for economic self-sufficiency, informed decision-making, and adaptability in the local market.

Reusable Menstrual Pads
The Youth Menstrual Hygiene Management Program addresses period poverty in Malawi, Africa. Rural Development Partners and Nexus Impacts aim to implement tangible lasting systems across school districts in rural communities. These multi-faceted systems manage menstrual hygiene and health deficits among young girls and women by teaching them sewing skills specifically tailored for creating reusable pads and educating them on sexual health, hygiene, and other relevant topics. Designed around sustainability, the project has a system involving local mother’s groups, and through the establishment of sewing clubs within schools, these local girls and women are fostering independence and systemic support for future generations.

Who We Are
Sickos is a group of childhood friends from Oregon creating a weekly YouTube show telling the true coming-of-age story of six friends living life to the fullest. Wherever they go, they strive to show the internet how giving back, making new friends, and spreading positivity can help shape the world into a more positive and fun place to be.
As we grew older, we all pursued our own endeavors, yet we always remained tied through our common love of extreme sports, friendship, and the irresistible summer months that our hometown hosts. As we each created our own successes and as we began to get pulled apart by life’s obligations, we decided to ditch all that, come together, and create an online webisode series capturing our weekly adventures to keep the friend group and lifestyle alive.
Why We Care
We’re dedicated to making the most of this life, from cherishing the small moments with friends and family to pushing ourselves beyond what we thought was possible. Through this incredible journey, we’ve come to realize that if you want to “feel like you’ve just been spit out of the gnarliest barrel of your life,” save someone’s life.
Because of you, we’ve been able to do just that, and we want to do more, and share the opportunity of helping those in need, changing lives, and bringing these amazing experiences to all of us though this journey of life. It’s not just our story, its yours.
